A fundamental day to day aspect, ensuring contract profitability or mitigated loss in line with budget and margin expectations. We employ a variety of tools and techniques that aid in strict cost capture and monitoring from contract start to finish. We also use our client’s systems to check and collate data for reporting purposes each month. Familiar costing systems include SAP, COINS and Causeway.
Contract Administration
We ensure a site is delivered in line with the contract requirements and administrating the terms of the contract throughout the construction process. This ensures that change is captured and dispute is mitigated where possible.
Site Measurement and Take-off
We visit sites and undertake measurement for the purpose of monthly valuations, and also capture change events as they occur. We also use and collate site records, images and use site drawings to check and remeasure works when required.
Valuations
A fundamental role of the Quantity Surveyor, we provide detailed accurate monthly valuations of the works completed to date. The application assessment is used for the basis of calculating the value of the works done and subsequent payment of outstanding sums in line with the contract conditions.
Procurement and Tendering
We undertake pre and live contract procurement and tendering activities that help to establish competitive quotations for contract delivery in line with budget expectations. Once decided on final quotations we compile and issue proposed contract documents for agreement in line with clients and sub-contractors’ requirements.

What is Quantity Surveying?
Typically, a professional role within construction that deals with daily commercial matters including construction contracts, cost and measurement duties.
What is a form of contract?
A form of contract is an agreement and relationship between two parties. In UK construction typical and most commonly used forms of contract documents include NEC and JCT suites.
Why do we need to measure construction?
Ascertaining construction measurement allows clients and contractors to calculate how much it costs to construct. Measurement then allows a client or contractor a method to pay each other for completed works.
What is method of Measurement?
Often a guided set of measurement rules commonly used in the industry to calculate construction operations. This can range from measuring roads to measuring a building. Obtaining the quantities of a construction operation allows a cost to be associated to that activity and a calculation to be made to ascertain the value of work done at any one time.
What is a dispute?
Often a disagreement between two parties in contract relating to construction matters that if not resolved could escalate to legal proceeding that allows a legal professional to decide the final matters based on the facts presented. Construction contracts allow a route to settle disputes and encourage collaboration between parties to work together by process and agreement.
